Game to Watch: Mercer Island (Wash.) on April 8 at 4 p.m. Coach said he’s really excited to play the Washington state team, as CCHS has never played an out-of-state squad.

GIRLS’ LACROSSE SEASON PREVIEW CAPSULE
Coach: Paul Morrison, 1st year
League: Dual County League
Last Year: 11-6
Returning Players: “A lot of returning players; we have 10 seniors on the team and we have eight juniors; two freshmen,” Morrison said. “Coming up with the final roster (was challenging) because there are so many good kids in this program. It was hard to pick.”
Key to Success: “Our key to success will be our senior leadership. We have our senior goalie who is an All-Star caliber goalie, her name is Melissa Mariano. Our two captains are Jamie Potter; she’s a midfielder, as is our other captain, Lindsay Cook. They’re both going to play in college. Lindsay’s going to play Connecticut College and Jamie’s going to play at Harvard next season. So we have our experienced players.”
Game to Watch: “The game to watch this season, well they’re all pretty special. So our first one’s Acton-Boxborough right next door. They’re always a high-quality team so we’re looking forward to Friday (April 1 at A-B at 5:30 p.m.)
Coach’s Take: “I think we’re prepared for the season. We’ve really worked on conditioning so we want to run with any team in the league -- there’s some really fast running teams in this league and we are preparing to run with them.”
