Superintendent Prepares for School Opening

Diana Rigby says summer was filled with activities.

For Superintendent of Schools Diana Rigby, the summer months weren't spent idly dipping her feet into cool waters by a beach.

Rather, Rigby said she worked with the district to hire 30 new employees throughout the system, consulted with a chef from Sustainable Food Systems with the food services staff to offer more nutritious lunches; oversaw the development of the bus routes that are now elsewhere on Concord Patch, and participated in interviews to hire five teachers at the high school; three at the middle school; seven elementary teachers and 12 support staff.

She said when school opens on Sept. 7, the district will welcome 3,154 students.
