A decade. Thinking of it like that makes it hard to believe. It seems like yesterday when we were making those multiple trips with wheelbarrows and back braces up and down Walden Street from #25 to #13. The Concord Shop was moving, from the shadow of The Concord Cheese Shop to the site of the former Placewares.
In those ten years, not much about us has changed, other than our name. We're Concord Cookware now and many of you fondly remember The Concord Shop of old. We still follow the simple philosophy of offering quality kitchen tools and supplies to fill just about every need. If you're a seasoned chef or novice cook it's still our goal to make your kitchen experiences more efficient and enjoyable.
How flattering it's been to hear such kind words over the years about the First Generation owners, Bill and Louise Barber. Perhaps their efforts in reviving The Cheese Shop and putting it on the world map are better known. But their wisdom in nurturing the "little kitchen store" next door so many years ago has resulted in continued family ownership and a rare Second Generation enterprise.
We've long been flattered, too, by the continued kind words we hear about our environment and product availability. More importantly, we're grateful to all of you have contributed to our success over the years. We live in a great community and we appreciate the continued patronage of Concord residents over the years.
We're hoping to be here for at least another ten years. We'll take it decade by decade! And those little boys who were stumbling around the bakeware and throwing spatulas at each other ten years ago aren't that little anymore. Who knows? There may just be a Third Generation one day.
