The Way the Minute Men Lived
Some houses normally closed to the public are open for Battle Road tour and demonstrations.
The Minute Man National Historical Park threw open the doors of several houses on the Battle Road in Concord, Lincoln and Lexington on Saturday for the second annual Battle Road Open House and Historic Trades Day.
Scores of tourists and residents from the area walked along the trail that links the historic sites where park employees and volunteers offered insights into the daily lives of the militia, their families and their world.
The park has worked assiduously to restore the houses as "witness" structures to history, the event brochure stated. From the Major Buttrick house to the Noah Brooks Tavern and more, the tour offered a rare inside look at some of Concord's treasures.
