CCYB Majors Baseball Player of the Week - May 9th 2011
Allied Paving
Allied Paving’s strong team approach continues to find success at the mid point of the season with an 8-1 record.
This week we saw improved performances from Tim Richardson, Vanty Rober and Aiden Snorek-Yates that propelled a 3-0 week for the team.
Hillside Medical Associates
Co-players of the week for Concord Hillside Medical include Jed Westwater and Jacob Rutstein. Jed has been a consistent, hard-hitting force in the middle of the lineup while Jacob, the youngest player on the team, has shown great maturity in the field and consistent growth at the plate.
Acton Toyota Red
Acton Toyota Red's player of the week is Patrick Walsh. Patrick has continued his good pitching and timely hitting.
Nelson Construction
Nelson Construction POTW goes out to the entire squad. After starting the season in a bit of a funk at the plate, the team came out of it in fine fashion last week. To a man the team has become a more focused and disciplined batting machine resulting in timely hits, rallies and solid ball contact.
Acton Toyota Orange
Acton Toyota Orange's player of the week is Benji Durning. Benji was 3-5 with a 3 run home run and pitched 3 1/3 innings with 8 K's.
Brines Sporting Goods
Brines Sports player of the week is Matt ("the Murph") Murphy-- batted .555 with a .700 on base percentage with some outstanding fielding as well.
Flatley Fence
Flatley had another good week, with everyone contributing to our success. The team is improving every game and win or lose, every game is exciting. Jonathan Koski was on base 4 times and scored three runs. He had an RBI and a nice line drive up the middle. Defensively he was solid at second base and outfield. In addition, Jalen Winstanley pitched 4 innings this week with 9 strikeouts and only 2 earned runs. Jalen also had solid defensive week at catcher and outfield. Jalen also scored 3 runs this week.
Attias Group
Matt Marowitz was Attias Group's player of the week for the week of May 1st. Through 4 games, Matt hit 5 for 7, hitting .714, with 2 singles, 1 double, 1 triple, a home run, 4 walks, no strikeouts and scored 5 runs, had 7 RBI's. ON the mound, he pitched 4 stellar innings and got the 5 to 3 win against Acton Toyota Red. For the week of May 9th, Attias Groups player of the week was Joe Loprete. Joe was 5 for 8 in three games with 3 singles, 1 double, 1 triple., and 2 RBI's. IN addition, Joe was solid at shortstop, centerfield, and third base.
