Treestump Woodcrafts Show
Meet the Arizona woodworkers and watch them demonstrate their techniques, plus receive 15% off all in-stock pieces!
Artisans Way, located at 18 Walden St., Concord, is delighted to welcome Treestump Woodcraft for their 6th annual Trunk Show. The event will be on Saturday, March 3rd from 10-6 and Sunday, March 4th from 12-5.
“Life is too short not to surround yourself with beauty.” Treestump master wood artisans, Christine and Ron Sisco take their philosophy seriously and have been handcrafting their beautiful Southwestern style work for 25 years. From their Arizona studio, they use wood and stone to create furniture, bowls, trays, sushi and bread boards, and kitchen utensils. Their work is made primarily of mesquite, a North American sustainable hardwood that is collected from naturally felled trees.
Inspired by an ancient Chinese technique that Christine learned through her Art History class in college, they utilize the meandering cracks and knots in the wood by filling them with Kingman turquoise (known for its sky-blue col0r) or hand-gathered river rocks to produce sublime, one of a kind pieces. All of their work is fully functional and meant to be used.
