Treestump Woodcrafts Trunk Show

Treestump helps celebrate Artisans Way's 7th Anniversary!

As part of their 7th anniversary celebration, Artisans Way will be welcoming back Treestump Woodcrafts for a trunk show featuring their stunning, handcrafted kitchenware, breadboards, and furniture. The gallery, located at 18 Walden St., Concord, will be hosting the artisans on Saturday, October 20th from 10-6 and Sunday, October 21st from 12-5.

Christine and Ron Sisco, the couple behind Treestump Woodcrafts, believe in using sustainable wood from naturally felled trees. The mesquite wood utilized in their work is sourced from the area surrounding where they live in Arizona. They take their philosophy of using otherwise discarded wood to its full potential seriously, and have been creating their unique work in this way for over 25 years.

After learning of an ancient Chinese technique of filling voids in porcelain with gold, Christine became inspired to fill the meandering cracks and knots found in the wood with local turquoise or hand-gathered river rocks. Christine and Ron then use these solid pieces to create their one of a kind furniture, bowls, trays, serving boards, and kitchen utensils. All of their work is fully functional and meant to be used.
