Week in Review, Feb. 6 to 13.

For the first week in a long time, weather was not a problem; play opens; budget unveiled.

All eyes were on Egypt last week as a youth-inspired revolution in the streets of Cairo transformed the country from dictator to military rule. Patch talked twice to former Concordian Farouk El-Baz to get his reaction to the fast-moving events in his native land.

The approved a new common victualler's license for allowing 42 indoor seats. The violation of the original permit turned out to be a mistake that was discovered when the popular bakery put in a new staff bathroom and the assistant building inspector noticed there were too many seats.

The harsh winter has depleted the town's snow removal funds. To date, $465,000 has been spent with a little over $150,000 remaining. But Whelan said the snow budget is the only account that can spill over into next near so the town can continue to plow the roads.
