Week in Review, Jan. 31 to Feb. 6
Threat of roof collapses and more snow dominate the week, students arrive from China, and the town caucus leaves a hole in the housing authority.
The week was again dominated by snow and icy weather as a new threat emerged: roof collapses. Concord Lumber suffered a collapse, but as the store was closed, no one was injured.
The Town Caucus had no surprises except that no one wanted the job of running for Housing Authority. Selectman Jeff Wieand and School Committee member Pam Gannon are unopposed, as is Moderator Eric Van Loon. No races means no coverage of issues and, in our opinion, the town is the poorer for it.
There is still time to get 50 signatures and run, if you are so inclined.

There was a Superintendent's Tea at Sanborn this week that was a great opportunity to talk informally about the middle school and all things academic with Diana Rigby and Principal Lynne Beattie.
Students from Yunnan, China arrived on Saturday for a five-day visit. They will attend classes at the high school until Wednesday. Say "ni hao" when you see them.
