• Hinsdale Considers Switching Dispatch Centers Amid Response Time Concerns (iberkshires.com) — Dalton’s suspension of mutual aid to Hinsdale has led to longer emergency response times and prompted Hinsdale to consider leaving Dalton’s Communication Center for the Berkshire Regional Emergency Communications Center. Dalton officials say they’ve effectively acted as Hinsdale’s backup police for years and now want a meeting to address trust, staffing, and how calls are prioritized before resuming routine mutual aid.
