$90,000 in Scholarships from the Massachusetts Restaurant Association Awarded to Students
$90,000 in scholarships was awarded to 30 students at the Danversport Yacht Club on Thursday June 9.

On Thursday June 9 the Massachusetts Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (MRAEF) presented 35 students with scholarships for post-secondary culinary education at the
Families, as well as association members, donors, and industry leaders were in attendance as high school and undergraduate students from across the state received $90,000 worth of scholarships as part of the Educational Foundation’s annual campaign to support future leaders in the food and beverage industry in Massachusetts . The gala was hosted by Billy Costa, host of NECN’s TV Diner.
“The scholarship program is a highlight of the year,” said Peter Christie, president of the Massachusetts Restaurant Association. “It’s amazing to see how motivated these young people are. They’ve discovered what they love to do, and we’re here to help get them to the next level. I have no doubt they’ll be a great success in this business.”

According to a press release, since 2000, the MRAEF scholarship has gifted nearly $800,000 to more than 300 students for post-secondary or foodservice programs.
