A Tortured Bird, a Gun and Man Arrested for Fighting

The following excerpts are from reports in the Danvers Police Department press log from Aug. 24-25.
Saturday, Aug. 24
- 6:58 a.m. A caller reported there were Canadian geese in the road on Endicott Street near Wendy's.
- 10:47 a.m. A caller reported finding a bird that was tortured (burned) at the Mill Pond off Sylvan Street.
- 12:44 p.m. Report of a larceny at the T-Mobile kiosk in the Liberty Tree Mall.
- 1:28 p.m. An officer reported he recovered a gun at or near Savers in the Endicott Plaza.
- 2:49 p.m. Report of malicious damage to a motor vehicle at the Hardcover Restaurant on Route 1.
- 3:34 p.m. Report of shoplifters at Kohl's. Two females each allegedly stole $200 worth of merchandise. Police said court summonses were issued.
- 4:35 p.m. Report of a shoplifting at Best Buy. An Mp3 player was stolen.
- 4:51 p.m. Report of a larceny from a car at Home Goods on Route 1.
Sunday, Aug. 25
- 12:08 a.m. James Woodfin, 34, of 11 Charles St., Danvers, was arrested, following a report of a fight between two males on Burroughs Street. Woodfin was charged with disorderly conduct, assault and battery and resisting arrest.
- 9:15 a.m. Report of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Conant and Poplar streets involving personal injuries.
- 9:42 a.m. A caller reported a motor vehicle was driving on the rail trail.
- 10:31 a.m. A caller reported someone dumped a vacuum in the road at the corner of Green Street and Shawmut Avenue.
- 3:24 p.m. Julia Duerden, 46, of Saugus, was arrested, following a report of a shoplifter at Kohl's. She was charged with larceny over $250.
