DANVERS, MA — Danvers residents will see an increase of about $21 per quarter in water and sewer rates beginning on July 1.
The Danvers Water & Sewer Commission last week voted to raise water rates by 3 percent and sewer rates by 5 percent.
The Commission said that it averages a rise in rates of 3.87 percent — or $21.50 — per single-family unit per quarter.
The rates will go into effect on July 1.
Rates for water and sewer are set to support the maintenance and improvements of Danvers' infrastructure as well as the day-to-day operations needed to provide Danvers customers with treated drinkable water.
"The town remains committed to transparency and efficiency in its operations and will continue to seek ways to manage costs effectively," Danvers DPW said.
