NSCC, Root Partnership A Win-Win For Student Diners, Future Culinary Workers (patch.com) β North Shore Community College is overhauling campus dining by bringing Salem nonprofit Root in as the new food service and catering partner at its Danvers and Lynn campuses starting fall 2026. Danvers students and staff can expect expanded cafeteria hours, online ordering, and fresh, scratch-made meals. The partnership will also create 15 to 20 culinary jobs for Root graduates on campus.

St. John's Prep soccer team starting fresh (lynnfieldweeklynews.com) β St. John's Prep soccer in Danvers is rebuilding after last year's narrow Division 1 state title loss and the graduation of 16 seniors. Coach Dave Crowell is leaning on captains JJ Koulalis, Andrew Wenzel, and Henry Barone plus a mostly new roster, expecting some early growing pains but confident the Eagles' possession-heavy style will come together as the season unfolds.

Essex Tech welcomes new school resource officer (peabodyweeklynews.com) β Essex Tech in Danvers has named Danvers Police Officer Chris Freepartner as its new school resource officer, strengthening the school's safety and police partnership. With experience in law enforcement, corrections, the Marines, and skilled trades, he's expected to connect well with career-focused students. Freepartner will focus on building relationships and maintaining a safe, welcoming campus environment.

4. 30 Firefighters graduate from Firefighting Academy Three new recruits from Revere among the graduates (reverejournal.com) β Danvers is among 15 communities with firefighters graduating from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy's 50-day Career Recruit Training Program. The new recruits completed intensive classroom and live-fire training that certifies them to national Firefighter I/II standards. They'll now bring those skills back to their home departments, strengthening local emergency response capabilities.
