Bones in the Sand, Thefts and Complaint of Trash in a Dumpster

The following information was provided by the Danvers Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following are excerpts from reports in the Danvers Police Department press log from May 27-29.

Monday, May 27

  • 8:33 p.m. Police said two men who were fishing along the shore on Water Street reported finding bones in the sand. Police said they gathered the bones and brought them to Beverly Hospital for analysis. The bones did not appear to be human.

Tuesday, May 28

  • 7:36 a.m. Police reported conducting a follow-up investigation to an initial incident in which vehicles were damaged at the town transfer station on Thursday.
  • 7:40 a.m. Report of malicious damage to trucks on Bow Street. Police said someone cracked the windshields on trucks belonging to Mayer Tree Service. Golf balls were found next to the vehicles.
  • 12:25 p.m. Report of a larceny at Monro Muffler Brake on Endicott Street. Police said the incident was allegedly an internal theft of money by an employee who received a court summons for larceny over $250.
  • 11:18 p.m. Kevin Budd, 34, of 40 Lynnmere Ave., Lynn, was arrested, following a report of an assault on a security guard at the Liberty Tree Mall. Budd was charged with disorderly conduct, assault and battery and making threats to commit a crime. See related story.

Wednesday, May 29

  • 10:33 a.m. Report of a motor vehicle accident with personal injuries on Route 62 in front of the state police barracks. An initial report said a pregnant female was involved in the accident, but there was no report of medical transported needed. State police handled the accident.
  • 12:17 p.m. Staff at CAB Health & Recovery Services requested assistance from police. They said there were possibly drugs involved in an adolescent program. An incident report was not available yet.
  • 1:31 p.m. A 15-year-old Danvers male was issued a court summons for larceny under $250, following a report of a larceny at the YMCA. Police said the teen allegedly stole money from a person's wallet.
  • 1:35 p.m. Report of a larceny at Endicott Green involving electricity.
  • 4:18 p.m. Report of illegal dumping at X Technology Global on Garden Street. A caller complained of trash in a Dumpster. An incident report was not available yet.
  • 4:52 p.m. Report of a domestic dispute and a male chasing a female at a Locust Street home. Police said it turned out that the male was actually chasing a dog that got out of the house during the disagreement.
