Caller Reports Gas in a Soda Bottle

The following are excerpts from reports in the Danvers Police Department press log from May 8-9.

Wednesday, May 8

  • 6:55 a.m. Report of suspicious activity at the Stop & Shop gas station on Route 1. A caller reported there was gas in a soda bottle. No further details were available.
  • 8:52 a.m. Report of malicious damage to a motor vehicle on Burley Street. Police said a back window was smashed out.
  • 12:55 p.m. Report of an assault at the Dunkin' Donuts on High Street. No further details were available.
  • 12:56 p.m. Report of a shoplifting at Kohl's.
  • 4:05 p.m. Joseph Burke, 39, of 277 Andover St., Danvers, was arrested at his residence on charges of domestic assault and battery, malicious destruction of property and breaking and entering. He was booked as a courtesy for Peabody police in connection with an incident in Peabody earlier that day.
  • 5 p.m. Report of a motor vehicle accident with personal injuries near Target. No further details were available.
  • 9:19 p.m. Report of a deer struck by a motor vehicle on Route 114.

Thursday, May 9

  • 9:35 a.m. Report of a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident at the Liberty Tree Mall.
  • 11:38 a.m. Report of a person being harassed by a neighbor at the Danvers Trailer Park on Route 1. The caller said threats were made, but no further details were available.
  • 1:44 p.m. Report of a motor vehicle accident with personal injuries outside Market Basket.
