Cookie Monstah Bake Shops To Offer 'The Eclipstah' Ice Cream Sandwich

The bake shop, with locations in Danvers, Swampscott and one coming to Newton, will offer the special sandwich starting Friday.

DANVERS, MA — As the skies darken on Monday for the last total solar eclipse across a large swath of the country for two decades, Massachusetts residents looking to share in the 93 percent experience can do so with a specialty ice cream sandwich from the Cookie Monstah Bake Shops.

The shops, with locations in Danvers and Swampscott, are offering the limited-time "The Eclipstah" Friday through Monday. The sandwich includes homemade double chocolate and salted caramel cookies with Milky Way ice cream between them.

During the eclipse from 2 to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, when Massachusetts will experience its closest peak toward totality at 93 percent, there will be buy one, get one free with an in-store purchase.

Founded in 2012 by Melissa Gale, The Cookie Monstah is a "fresh batch, from scratch" locally owned and operated company.

What started as one cookie truck, has expanded to a fleet of six trucks and six Bake Shops located in Danvers, Burlington, Swampscott, Needham, Beverly and North Andover. Another shop in Newton will open in late spring.

The Cookie Monstah trucks are also found throughout Boston at The Greenway Carousel or Dewey Square from April through November.
