Danvers Restricts Outdoor Watering To 6 Hours Per Week
The Level 4 water restrictions are the result of drought conditions and an effort to protect the Ipswich River watershed.
DANVERS, MA — Outdoor automatic sprinkler use will be limited to six hours per week under new water restrictions in Danvers effective Monday.
The town raised its summer water restrictions to Level 4 because of the low flow of water in the Ipswich River.
Under Level 4 restrictions, residents can use automatic sprinklers and irrigation systems on their laws on Tuesdays and Saturdays only from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Hand watering with a hose or watering can remains allowable anytime, as does car washing.

Under a Level 5 "Conserve Water" restriction, only hand watering of lawns would be allowed with no car washing or pool filling.
