Danvers Baseball Advances in Playoffs to Face Reading Tonight
Danvers High baseball is the Falcons lone remaining team in the playoffs, while over at St. John's Prep, there is still strong competition for tournament titles.

The Falcons' baseball team is the only varsity sport at Danvers High still in competition for the playoffs now.
The Falcons shut out Division II foe Tewksbury Friday night at Plains Park, 5-0, in a first round game, which means Danvers faces Reading Monday (6:30 p.m.) at home.
The Danvers High softball team, despite its near perfect record this season and a home field advantage, fell to Tewksbury Saturday, 8-5, in a hard fought quarter final game. And in tennis, the Danvers boys lost to Burlington in the first round and the girls were swept by Wayland in a preliminary round.

St. John's Prep walloped visiting Malden in Saturday's first round game and now advances to the quarter finals in Division I North against Chelmsford on Monday (4 p.m.) at home.

The Prep's lacrosse team knocked out Andover in the first round of the sectionals Saturday at the Prep and will host Boston College High School Wednesday (5 p.m.), tennis won a bye in the first round and hosts Boston Latin Academy Monday (4 p.m.) in a quarter final match, while volleyball defeated Westford Academy and is now on to the semi finals Monday (7 p.m.) to host Chelmsford.
