Danvers Harbormaster’s Office is accepting applications for the positions of part-time/seasonal lead lifeguard and lifeguards.

Lifeguards aree esponsible for ensuring the safety of visitors to Sandy Beach by preventing and responding to emergencies; enforce aquatic policies, rules and regulations; recognizes and responds effectively to emergencies; inspect site and equipment for safe operation; communicates with others in a professional manner; supervision of assigned volunteers; interpret/apply/and explain rules, policies, and procedures to others; prepares and submits programmatic, administrative, and statistical reports in the required time lines as assigned; exercises discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information; follows through on communication received, as evident by timely and accurate task completion; works in outside weather conditions while performing this job; performs related work as assigned.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or any combination of education or experience which provides the knowledge, skills, or abilities for the position may be substituted for diploma; current and valid Lifeguard certification, community first aid and safety, and CPR for the professional rescuer; ability to communicate with others in a professional manner; ability to work with individuals of all abilities. Salary: $10.00/hr. - $12.00/hr.
