Danvers High Hopes To Build Connection Through New Alumni Council
Principal Adam Federico is looking for recent and older graduates to help learn from their experiences and promote current DHS programs.

DANVERS, MA — Danvers High is looking to build a more fulfilling, rewarding and inclusive future through a better connection to its past with the help of a new Alumni Council.
The school is looking for both recent and older graduates to participate on the new council Principal Adam Federico said will hopefully be a two-way conversation about what their experience at the school meant to them and to promote what is going on with current student programs.
"I've reached out to any alumnus of Danvers High School," Federico said of the proposed Alumni Council at a December School Committee presentation on enrollment at the school. "Any age, any generation, to come in and have some conversations, and just learn about what's going on here and for us to learn from them."

Federico said at that School Committee meeting that the outreach will also include a Young Alumni Panel geared specifically toward very recent graduates.
"Our hope is to have kids who are just out of here in the last couple of years interact with our current seniors," Federico said. "Kind of give them: 'Here's what I've learned a year out of here. Maybe you want to consider this for your search post-secondary, you might want to (think about taking) this class,' or maybe 'study a little harder.'

"We think getting advice from a recent peer is very helpful."
The first Alumni Council is set for Feb. 2 at the Danvers High School Atrium at 6:30 p.m.
