Danvers To Host Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Tribute For 25th Year

The event - themed this year: "How do you Move Like King?" - will be held on Jan. 15 at Danvers High School.

DANVERS, MA — Danvers will hold its annual Martin Luther King Jr. tribute for the 25th year this month with the event themed "How do you Move Like King?" set for Jan. 15 at Danvers High School.

The Danvers Human Rights & Inclusion Committee and Danvers Public Schools will host the event from 3 to 6 p.m. in the high school atrium.

This event is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be served.

This year's event will center on what are community members' visions of the legacy that Rev. King laid down and how to embody his vision on a daily basis. There will be a two-hour open house, a student art exhibit, an interactive town art project, and a King-sized vision wall.

Children will also be invited to design their own King dreamscape communities.

The event will culminate in the final hour with student musical performances, the inaugural Seed of Hope Award presentation and community speakers on how they are "moving like Martin Luther King Jr. through their life and work in the town."
