Danvers To Light Up Blue One Year Into Coronavirus Crisis

DANVERS, MA — Danvers will provide up to 500 blue lights to residents as part of its Community Illumination effort in recognition of the year anniversary of the coronavirus health crisis.

The weeklong recognition from March 15 to March 19 is designed to remember those lost during the pandemic, celebrate local "superheroes" amid the pandemic and look forward to a brighter future.

Town buildings will be illuminated in blue throughout the week and residents are asked to shine a light on their homes as well.

The town will give away up to 500 bulbs on March 10 from 4 to 6 p.m. and March 12 from 7 to 9 a.m. downtown across from Kaffmandu.

Residents are also invited to put up holiday lights of any color, shine a spotlight on their homes or come up with other creative ways to light up and participate in the program.

Names and photos of those who have gone above and beyond as "superheroes" during the pandemic, as well as those lost and remembered can be submitted to COVID19@danversma.gov.
