Danvers Man Gets Jail Time After Guilty Plea In Child Porn Case
Steven Durkee, 34, of Danvers, was arrested in January after four police departments tracked his online activity for more than a year.

DANVERS, MA —A Danvers man who was targeted by four police departments in a child pornography investigation will spend the next year in jail. Steven Durkee, 34, of 4 Roman Avenue in Danvers, pleaded guilty in Salem District Court Tuesday to one count of possessing child pornography. He was sentenced to 2.5 years in jail, with the last year and a half to be suspended for three years.
Newbury Police started tracking Durkee in September 2017. By the time investigators obtained a search warrant for his home in January, police in Boston, Rowley and Danvers had also started looking into his online activities. According to a Danvers police report, Durkee told police he viewed and deleted the images, which depicted boys and girls ranging from infants to pre-teens in sexual poses or engaging in sexual activities with each other and adults.
