Danvers Man Honors His Hometown With "Moving Pictures" [VIDEOS]

Ken Panciocco has made some touching videos about his hometown of Danvers.

Ken Panciocco is both a history and photography buff, a combination that can’t be beat when it comes to documenting the days and years of Danvers gone by.

Panciocco is a Danvers guy, having grown up on Burley Street first attending , and later graduating from in 1982. After high school, he joined the Marines and proudly served his country.

Recently, Panciocco made two videos, set to the song “Where I Come From" by performer Montgomery Gentry, and shared them with the Facebook group “You Know You Grew Up  in Danvers When…”.

The pictures and the music were touched the hearts of many Danversites, and now you can view them for yourselves here, or on Youtube. Remember to have your computer speakers on to get the full effect.

Panciocco credits Bill Clark, who taught the A/V classes at Danvers High School, with inspiring his love for creating videos.

Panciocco has led an interesting life. When he was a Marine and traveled to many places, including a stint in England. Panciocco’s son, Anthony, is an athlete, and his favorite sport is running track. Ken moved back to Danvers in 2009 to be near Anthony, who he loves and treasures with all his heart.  The father and son have often traveled to historical sites, but because Anthony is heading off to college, Panciocco’s next trip will be without him.  The itinerary is to see as many lighthouses as he can and to photograph them to share not only with Anthony, but with his friends and other family.

When he got the idea of making the videos about Danvers, Panciocco was just planning to share several of the thousands of pictures he has of places around town, sports, and photographs sent to him from the .  He wasn’t looking for glory or accolades, but he surely deserves both.

As a loyal and down- to- earth man, he is centered, smart, and someone who is not only a wonderful dad, but also a fantastic friend. He says that while he doesn’t have a lot of friends, the friends he has are true, and that means the world to him. Being involved in Anthony’s life, and attending his track meets are very important to Panciocco, and his face lights up when he speaks of his son.

Capturing the moment in pictures could be considered a hobby, but with his skill and passion for both still pictures and videos, it may be more of a calling. He creates “moving pictures” that are emotionally moving as well.

Let’s hope Ken makes some more Danvers videos to help us .
