Danvers' Martin Luther King Jr. Tribute Full Program Set

The Danvers Human Rights & Inclusion Committee and Danvers Public Schools will host the virtual celebration on Monday.

DANVERS, MA —The Danvers Human Rights & Inclusion Committee and Danvers Public Schools revealed the full program scheduled for their 23rd annual Martin Luther King Jr. tribute set for Monday.

This year's event will be held virtually and will be broadcast at 4 p.m. on Danvers Community Access Television's YouTube, Facebook and government channels (Comast 22, Verizon 41). The event will re-air on DCAT at 6 p.m. and will be available anytime on the YouTube channel.

This year's event will feature Danvers student artwork centered on King's life with performances by the Danvers High School Chamber Singers and Brandeis University's a capella ensemble "Voicemale."

Speakers will include past Human Rights & Inclusion Committee scholarship winners, community members, State Sen. Joan Lovely, State Rep. Sally Kerans, Town Manager Steve Bartha, Select Board Chair Gardner Trask, School Committee Chair Eric Crane, Interim co-Superintendents Keith Taverna and Mary Wermers, HRIC member Bill Graham and HRIC Chair Dr. Dutrochet Djoko.

The event is free and open to the public.

The Danvers Police Department, Jeff Chickstein and GMC Danvers, Essex County OB/GYM John Mr. Ross, the Danvers Educational Enrichment Partnership, Kiwanis, Northeast Community Bank and the Massachusetts Center for Native American Awareness are sponsors for this year's event.
