Danvers Native Dies in New Hampshire Motorcycle Crash

NH State Police: Peter M. Pierce crashed his Ducati motorcycle on I-93 South in Centerbury, NH.

New Hampshire State Police released the identity of the Massachusetts man who crashed his motorcycle on I-93 in Canterbury, NH, on May 18.

Peter M. Pierce, 57, of Wakefield, passed away after his Ducati veered off the road on I-93 South, just before Exit 17, outside of Concord, NH.

The crash, as first reported on Concord NH Patch, occurred at just before 2 p.m. It is unknown what caused the crash but witnesses stated that he drove off the road and struck several trees. He was rushed to Concord Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

According to Lt. Gregory Ferry, no new information is available about the crash and state police are still investigating.

According to his obituary, published in The Salem News earlier today, Pierce was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He grew up in Danvers and had lived in Wakefield during the last 13 years. He enjoyed landscaping and the outdoors.

Peter’s family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, May 21, from 4 to 7 p.m., at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. All other services are private. 

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Peter’s name to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250.
