Danvers Police To Go Pink For Breast Cancer Awareness
Danvers police are selling pink police patches in October with proceeds from patch sales going to breast cancer charities.

DANVERS, MA — The Danvers Police Department will be selling pink police patches for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
Officers will be wearing the pink patches as part of the Pink Patch Project.
"Allowing this change in uniform is intended to stimulate conversation with the community and to encourage public awareness about the importance of early detection and the ongoing fight against the disease," police said.

Residents can support these efforts by purchasing a Danvers police pink patch for $10 at the Danvers police station.
Sales are cash only with money raised donated to breast cancer research, treatment and education.
