Danvers Police To Offer Women's Self-Defense Class In May
The R.A.D. course teaches women how to prevent or escape harm through empowerment.
DANVERS, MA — The Danvers Police Department is offering a four-week self-defense class for women next month at the Holten Richmond School.
The R.A.D. self-defense course teaches women how to prevent or escape harm through empowerment.
The class is free, and registrants must attend all four classes to receive certification. Class size is limited.

The course begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and avoidance, and progresses to hands-on techniques against a potential attack through easy, effective, and proven self-defense techniques.
The course is open to women 18 or older — and girls 16 and older if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Each three-hour course funs from 5 to 8 p.m. on May 2, May 9, May 16 and May 23.
