Danvers Selectmen Vote to Offer Steve Bartha Town Manager Position
Bartha currently serves as assistant town manager in Avon, Ct.

Selectmen voted unanimously on Monday night to offer the town manager position to Steve Bartha, who is currently serving as the assistant town manager, Avon, Ct.
Bartha has served as assistant town manager in Avon, Ct., since 2010. Avon is a town of 18,000 with a combined budget of $80 million, and Bartha’s current responsibilities include budgeting, purchasing, project oversight, negotiations, and management. Bartha graduated with honors from the University of Connecticut’s Masters of Public Administration program. and earned graduate certificate in public financial management.
Pending contract negotiations, Bartha will follow Town Manager Wayne Marquis, who is retiring after more than three decades. His last day is Friday.

The Town Manager Screening Committee interviewed six candidates on Thursday at St. John’s Preparatory School, and submitted three finalists to selectmen.
In addition to Bartha, selectmen interviewed Andrew P. Flanagan, deputy town manager, Arlington, and Michael A. Lombardo, town manager, Hamilton.

.The town manager in Danvers is responsible for the enforcement of all laws and town ordinances; appointment of department heads, appointment of members of numerous town boards and committees, submission of the annual budget to the Board of Selectmen. In addition, the town manger and his staff recommend policies and programs to the Board of Selectmen and implement decisions of the board, as well as town meeting.
