DanversCARES Presents Awards at Annual Meeting

2 Community Members, 2 Youth and 1 Organization Honored

DanversCARES recognized the following at its recent annual meeting:

Skaina Pierre - High School Youth Leader: Lyle Harrod, Assistant Director, DanversCARES (far right) joins Skaina Pierre, Emily Paddol and Sarah Mondi at the DanversCARES 2018 Annual Meeting held on June 4th at the Danvers Senior Center. Pierre, a junior at Danvers High School, was presented with an Outstanding Youth Leadership Award for her active involvement with the organization. Paddol and Mondi, both freshmen at Danvers High School, provided a re-cap of activities the DanversCARES Youth Leadership Board participated in during the last year.

Jake Spignese - Middle School Youth Leader: Jake Spignese, an 8th grade student at the Holten-Richmond Middle School was presented with an Outstanding Youth Leadership Award by Danielle LaRocque, Middle School Youth Program Supervisor, DanversCARES. Spignese received the award for showing outstanding leadership by being a positive peer leader by example for his friends and peers in his school and community.

Judith Ryan - Community Collaboration Award; Pam Cochrane - Outstanding Volunteer Award; East Boston Savings Bank - Outstanding Community Partner Award: Three very deserving people and organizations were recognized for their contributions to DanversCARES at the organization’s recent annual meeting. Judith Ryan, Danvers’ Public Health Nurse, received the Community Collaboration Award, Reverend Pam Cochrane, Associate Pastor of Youth & Family Ministry, who was named Co-Chair of DanversCARES for 2018/2019, received the Outstanding Volunteer Award, and East Boston Savings Bank received the Outstanding Community Partner Award. Pictured (l-r): Ryan, Cochrane, Nancy Hathaway, who accepted East Boston Savings Bank’s award and was also named Chair of DanversCARES for 2018/2019, Peg Sallade, Project Director, DanversCARES, and Stephanie Beilin, Social Worker at Danvers High School who served as the DanversCARES chairperson for 2017/2018.
