Danvers Football Ranked Among Top Division 2A North Teams

DANVERS, MA — The Danvers Falcons look to be in the mix for another sectional championship this season.

With a new football season around the corner, the Boston Herald ranked the Falcons fifth in their Division 2A North preseason top eight. Last year, the team went 8-4 and won the Division 2A Northeast championship.

With realignment taking place this year, the Falcons have been moved from Division 3 to Division 2A and face stiff competition from top-ranked Melrose, North Reading, Marblehead, Burlington, Wayland, Gloucester, and Wakefield.

The 2016 Danvers High School football campaign starts Sept. 9 vs. Winthrop.
