Election 2020 Danvers Results: Biden Tops Trump; Kerans Wins 13th

DANVERS, MA — Danvers voters backed former Vice President Joe Biden over President Donald Trump in numbers slightly narrower than the state average on Tuesday, according to unofficial results.

Danvers voters also backed Ed Markey for U.S. Senate, Seth Moulton for U.S. Representative, Sally Kerans in the 13th Essex House of Representatives District and were split on the two ballot questions.

Voters chose the Biden-Kamala Harris ticket over the Trump-Mike Pence ticket with 9,638 votes (57.6 percent) for Biden-Harris and 6,660 votes (39.5 percent) for Trump-Pence.

Danvers reported that 16,851 out of 21,433 registered voters in the town (78.6 percent) voted in the election either early voting, mail-in voting or in-person voting.

Markey received 9,689 votes (57.5 percent) to Republican challenger Kevin O'Connor's 6,078 votes (36.1 percent).

Moulton received 10,178 votes (60.4 percent) to Republican challenger John Paul Moran's 6,191 votes (36.7 percent).

Democrat Sally Kerans rode a strong showing in the eight Danvers precincts to victory in the 13th Essex District race in the district that also includes West Peabody and Milddleton.

Kerans received 7,993 votes in Danvers with Republican Robert May second at 4,605, Independent Bill Bates third at 1,690, Independent Jason Guida fourth at 1,287 and Independent Christopher Keohane fifth at 509.

In the ballot questions, Danvers residents overwhelming supported "Right to Repair" with "Yes" receiving 12,587 votes and "No" receiving 3,782.

Residents sided against "Ranked Choice Voting" with 10,464 voting "No" and 5,799 voting "Yes."
