Author Visit: William Sargent

The Well from Hell: The BP Oil Spill and the Endurance of Big Oil examines the environmental impact of last April's BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico in light of the company culture that made that accident not only possible, but likely.

Mr. Sargent will also focus on the greater context of the interplay with politics and the future of big oil.

William Sargent is a consultant for the
NOVA Science series. His books include The House on Ipswich Marsh, Crab Wars: A Tale of Horseshoe Crabs, Bioterrorism, and Human Health, and A Year in the Notch: Exploring the Natural History of the White Mountains.

Formerly Director of the Baltimore Aquarium and a research assistant at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, he has taught at The Briarwood Center for Marine Biology and at Harvard University.
