Free Seminar - How to Lower Home Energy Costs

Find out how you can lower your home energy costs at a free seminar offered at North Shore Community College's (NSCC) Danvers Campus, 1 Ferncroft Road, Math and Science Building, Thursday, February 16, 7 - 8:30p.m.

The panel discussion, with audience participation encouraged, will feature Frederic Hopps, building contractor and chairman of Solar Now, and Kenneth Rauseo, retired manager of the Energy Conservation Unit, Department of Housing and Community Development, Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Discussion topics will include: the role of an energy audit, residential energy efficiency priorities, material and labor installation standards, evaluating contractor estimates, contractor requirements and quality assurance.

Also addressed will be: heating systems and building shell energy measures, HEAT Loan Minimum Standards and Requirements and Homeowner Oil Heating System Upgrade and Insurance Law.
