Local author Andre Dubus III will speak at St. John's Prep on Tuesday, April 24 at 7 pm in Kaneb Theater, Alumni Hall on the school campus at 72 Spring Street in Danvers.
Mr. Dubus is the author New York Times bestsellers “The House of Sand and Fog” and “The Garden of Last Days”. He will discuss his most recent book, “Townie: A Memoir”. This honest story is about growing up on the North Shore during the ’70s, when mill cities in the Merrimack Valley were in various phases of recovery. He tells a tough tale about surviving in a fractured family and turning his life toward creative, productive, and compassionate ends. Suffering, bullying and compassion are themes in his book and his lecture.
Mr. Dubus is a Newburyport resident and National Book Award nominee. The evening is sponsored by the PREP Parent Council Speaker Series. There is no cost; open to all.
