
Do you “eat locally?” What exactly does “eat locally” mean? Why eat locally? Get answers to these questions and more at North Shore Community College’s Local Food is Power lecture and discussion, Thursday, March 15, 7-8:30p.m. The free lecture will be held on NSCC’s Danvers Campus, 1 Ferncroft Road, in the Math & Science building, Room 119.
A panel of community sustainability partners will discuss the economic and social benefits of eating locally grown and prepared foods, as well as how what we eat affects our health, the environment and our community. Panelists include: David Wilson, consultant and lecturer; Augusta Barlow, owner, Each Peach Café; and Deborah Ball, owner, Human Nature Wellness Center.
Refreshments featuring locally grown, raw prepared desserts and organic, locally roasted coffee will be served.
