Walking in Danvers Historic Forest

The Danvers Bi-Peds is one of many organizations in Essex County participating in the 11th annual TRAILS & SAILS.  Two Weekends of Walks & Water, September 21-23 & 28-30, 2012.  The Bi-Peds event will take participants on a guided walk through the Town Forest.  Danvers acquired the 50 acre Town Forest in 1949, but the history of the area goes back centuries. Dave McKenna who has lived near the forest all his life will lead a walk and tell about the forest and it's inhabitants, past and present.  The walk will be 1 to 2 miles on trails. Insect spray and clothing to protect from ticks are recommended.
