“Expanse” refers not only to the physical quality of landscape subjects, but also to the emotional feeling that is often evoked by viewers observing landscape: a feeling of vastness, opportunity and wonderment, according to ArcWorks. The four artists featured are Andrew Anderson-Bell, pastel painter; Leah Bokenkamp, photographer; Lisa Courtney, oil painter; and Daphne Dwyer, oil painter.
