The following information was provided by Danvers Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following excerpts are from reports in the Danvers Police Department press log from July 25-27.

Thursday, July 25

  • 7:07 p.m. Report of a rabid squirrel on Rogers Road. The Animal Control Officer was notified.
  • 8:28 p.m. Michael Guerriero, 45, of Saugus, was arrested, following a report of a shoplifting at Walmart. He was charged with larceny over $250.

Friday, July 26

  • 11:28 a.m. Report of a motor vehicle accident on Page Street involving personal injuries.
  • 1:31 p.m. Report of a motor vehicle accident at the corner of Cherry and Putnam streets involving personal injuries.
  • 1:32 p.m. An officer reported conducting a follow up investigation on a report of a "wire theft" at Danvers Electric.
  • 2:46 p.m. Police responded to a report of a shoplifting at Walmart. A court summons was issued, but no further details were available at the time.
  • 5:56 p.m. Report of a shoplifter at Walmart.
  • 10:06 p.m. Gerald Morse, 34, of 43 Brackenbury Ln., Beverly, was arrested, following a report of an unknown disturbance at Motel 6. He was charged with three counts of assault and battery, including domestic and with a dangerous weapon.

Saturday, July 27

  • 12:52 a.m. A 21-year-old Wakefield woman was placed into protective custody after police responded to a report of a loud party at 12 Andrews St. Police said it was an underage drinking and court summonses would be forthcoming. See related story.
  • 7:41 a.m. An officer reported conducting a follow up investigation at 12 Andrews St.
  • 10:07 a.m. Report of a break-in to a Stafford Road home. No further details were available.
  • 11:09 a.m. Report of a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian on High Street.
  • 1:36 p.m. Report of a past break-in at a Chestnut Street home. No further details were available.
  • 4:11 p.m. Report of a motor vehicle accident with a motorcycle on High Street. The initial report said there were personal injuries.
