Man Flies Flag Upside Down Because Upset With the Government

The following are excerpts from reports in the Danvers Police Department press log from May 5-7.

Sunday, May 5

  • 6:58 p.m. A caller at a mobile home park reported another person threatened "to beat him up." No further details were available.
  • 8:22 p.m. A hypodermic needle was found at the Ira Lexus dealership on Route 114.
  • 8:59 p.m. Report of an assault at a Hobart Street home. No further details were available.

Monday, May 6

  • 8:34 a.m. Report of a larceny at Danvers High School. Police said some copper was stolen from the site.
  • 10 p.m. Report of fraud at the Liberty Tree Mall. No further details were available.

Tuesday, May 7

  • 5:37 a.m. Paul Singh, 37, of Lawrence, was arrested, following a motor vehicle stop at the intersection of Endicott and Sylvan streets. He was charged with attaching plates and operating an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle.
  • 7:20 a.m. An officer made a traffic stop on Locust Street and issued a court summons, according to a log entry, but no further details were available.
  • 12:59 p.m. Dana Randall, 27, of 5A Cherry St., Danvers, was arrested on a warrant.
  • 4:27 p.m. Officer Keith Chalmers responded to an Old Burley Street home for a well being check after police received a report of an American flag being flown upside down. Chalmers said the man involved was fine and he was flying the flag that way because he was upset with the government.
