Man Reportedly Breaks Into Woman's Trailer Twice in One Night

The following information was provided by the Danvers Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Police arrested a Danvers man shortly after midnight on Thursday after he turned up at a woman's mobile home, which was in violation of a restraining order the woman had against him.

Scott Bump, 56, was arrested and arraigned later that day on charges of breaking and entering for a felony, larceny over $250, three counts of malicious destruction of property and violation of a restraining order.

Bump had, in fact, just completed his probation for a previous incident of breaking into her Route 1 trailer home. The woman told police she returned home around 3 a.m. to find him asleep on her couch, reports the Salem News.

The Salem News reports that Bump, according to police, entered the home through a window, hurt himself in the process and went to Lahey Clinic for treatment, was served with a new restraining order and then still returned to the trailer.

The initial incident was reported around 12:30 a.m.

The woman told police Bump had opened her safe and stole about $2,000, although his lawyer argued that if that were true, it was only money Bump was owed, reports the Salem News.
