The non-profit Fed Up With Cancer was founded in last year by Jason Maxwell, president of MassPay, with efforts aiming to support cancer research and prevention within the Greater Boston and North Shore regions.
Maxwell, who lost his father to liver cancer in 1988 and his brother-in-law to sarcoma in 2007, was motivated to start the fundraiser after a fellow employee developed cancer, and he realized how all of the MassPay family was effected by the disease.

“I am fed up with watching cancer cause pain and heartache for the people I care about,” says Maxwell in a release. “Joining the fight and forming Fed Up With Cancer was an easy decision for our company. It’s a personal battle that we intend to fight as a team moving forward. To have Micky Ward, who is known throughout the world for his hard work and determination, as well as Bridget Blythe, who is passionate about cancer research, both participating in our fundraiser is an honor. We look forward to an exciting evening where people can celebrate those who have fought courageous battles with cancer, and honor those who are no longer with us.”
Tickets to the event are available for $30 in advance at http://fedupwithcancer2.eventbrite.com/
