'Mirror, Mirror...Are You There?' Caller Reports Girl Talking to Mirror

The following information was provided by the Danvers Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following excerpts are from reports in the Danvers Police Department press log from Sept. 23-25.

Monday, Sept. 23

  • 8:27 a.m. Report of a larceny on High Street. A phone was stolen.
  • 9:56 a.m. Report of an assault involving a co-worker at Kaplan Family Hospice on Liberty Street.
  • 1:15 p.m. Police responded to a home on Apple Tree Road to check the well being of a resident. Police said a girl was talking to a mirror.
  • 6:46 p.m. A caller reported a male was sleeping in the bathroom at the Walgreens on High Street. The male was transported to the hospital.
  • 8:22 p.m. Report of a motor vehicle hit-and-run accident on Route 128 North at High Street.

Tuesday, Sept. 24

  • 2:25 a.m. Joseph Cobb, 30, of 21 Purchase St., Danvers, was arrested, following a report of a domestic dispute at his residence. He was charged with domestic assault and battery.
  • 8:04 a.m. Report of a window in the road at the corner of Maple and Summer streets.
  • 8:17 a.m. Report of a motor vehicle hit-and-run accident at the Great Oak School. A tan SUV was involved in the incident.
  • 10:01 a.m. A caller at HomeGoods reported losing a platinum diamond wedding band.
  • 10:06 a.m. An officer reported assisting another agency in a larceny investigation at the McDonald's on High Street.
  • 11:52 a.m. Report of a hit-and-run accident in Danvers Square.
  • 1:14 p.m. Juan Cosme, 31, of Somerville, was arrested, following a motor vehicle stop in Danvers Square. He was charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and a crosswalk violation.
  • 2:41 p.m. Report of a larceny at First Congregational Church on Centre Street. A purse was stolen.
  • 6:03 p.m. A caller reported a female was assaulted at a Route 1 apartment in a domestic incident.
  • 8:43 p.m. A caller reported suspicious activity at the Danvers Trailer Park on Route 1. The caller said there were males with baseball bats. Police searched the area, but didn't find anyone.
  • 9:15 p.m. Report of a hit-and-run accident on Cherry Street near All Saints Episcopal Church involving a white four-door car.
  • 11:21 p.m. Matthew Silva, 37, of 65 Longbow Rd., Danvers, was arrested at McDonald's on High Street on a warrant.

Wednesday, Sept. 25

  • 3:57 a.m. A caller reported suspicious activity at Sovereign Bank on Maple Street. Police said construction was going on at the bank and the workers were spoken to.
  • 9:42 a.m. Credit cards were found on Massachusetts Avenue.
  • 11:39 a.m. Report of a car break-in on Massachusetts Avenue. Wallets were stolen.
  • 12:07 p.m. Report of a shoplifting at Claire's Boutique at the mall. Police issued a court summons.
  • 3:24 p.m. A black purse was found in the bushes at the corner of Bowdoin Street and Massachusetts Avenue.
  • 4:12 p.m. A caller reported a case of road rage, following an incident at the intersection of Elliott and Liberty streets.
  • 4:23 p.m. Report of fraud by a Highland Terrace resident.
