Northeast Arc Hires New Chief Human Resource Officer

Danvers Resident Mara Levy Kaufman Takes On New Role

The Northeast Arc, a not-for-profit organization that helps children and adults with disabilities become full participants in the community, has hired Mara Levy Kaufman of Danvers as its new Chief Human Resource Officer

In her role, Kaufman will be responsible for providing decisive leadership to ensure the Northeast Arc is considered an employer of choice while supporting the organization’s overall strategic plan and vision. Her duties include ensuring consistency and clarity of all policies, processes and decision making as well as creating and fostering a culture of wellness and safety.

“Mara is a results-focused human resources professional who understands the complexities of a growing organization,” said Jo Ann Simons, CEO, Northeast Arc. “She is a great addition to our management team.” Kaufman has over twenty-five years of experience as a human resources and operations executive having held leadership roles at The Taymar Group, The Beacon Companies, and Combined Jewish Philanthropies.

Kaufman holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, both from Boston College. She is a member of the Northeast Human Resources Association and the Society for Human Resources Management

“I look forward to helping to hire and promote the right employees to be part of the incredible team that is finding new ways to support individuals with disabilities and their families every day,” said Kaufman.
