Cecile Marie (Picard) Johnson 78, of Danvers, beloved wife of Leopoldo A. Johnson, died unexpectedly, Monday, September 1st, 2014 at home.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Elise (Babineau) Picard. She was raised and educated in Waltham and was a graduate of St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing.

Mrs. Johnson had been employed as a nurse at Waltham Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, and The Soldier’s Home in Chelsea. Most recently she worked as a private duty nurse with the Visiting Nurses Association until the time of her retirement. Nursing and the care of others was a role Mrs. Johnson embodied both professionally and in her personal life.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Cecile was a longtime resident of the Town of Danvers. Along with her beloved husband, Cecile was an enthusiastic sailor and member of the Boston Yacht Club in Marblehead. She was an avid reader but her greatest joy in her life was her family. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who took great pride in providing a loving and warm home for all of her family to enjoy. She will be deeply missed by all.

In addition to her loving husband of 52 years, Cecile is survived by her daughters, Yolanda Milliman-Richard and her husband Bruce Richard of Auburndale and Elena Brousseau and her partner Anthony LaMonica of Danvers, her sons, Carlos Johnson and his fiancé Isabel Latorre of Lowell and Theodore Johnson and his wife Shannon of Salem, her grandchildren, Emily Johnson, Chloe Milliman, Max Milliman, Spencer Milliman, Celina Brousseau, Jaqueline Brousseau and Reese Johnson, her siblings, Claire Gundel and her husband Carl of Needham, Eugene Picard of Wareham, Joseph Picard and his wife Genevieve of Gloucester, Dianne McColgan and her husband Steve of Plainville and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Betty Picard.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held from the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers, Saturday, September 6th, at 8:15 A.M. followed by her funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, Conant St., Danvers at 9 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Danvers. Visiting hours Friday, September 5th from 3 to 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, expression of sympathy may be made in Cecile’s memory to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 801 18th Street, NW, Washington D.C. 20006.
