Obituary: Joseph R. Pugia Jr., 50, Former Danvers Resident

Obituary from Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home: 

Joseph R. Pugia Jr., 50, of Boxford, formerly of Danvers and Herkimer, NY, died, Saturday, March 1, following a short illness surrounded by his father and mother, Joseph Ralph & Annetta Pugia, and his beloved sister, Susan Pugia Vinciguerra.

Born on June 20, 1963, in Herkimer, NY, Joey was raised and educated in Herkimer and was a graduate of Herkimer High School. He continued his education at Eisenhower College in Geneva New York where he earned his degree in Construction Engineering.

Joey was an Eagle Scout and had a great love of the outdoors. As a youth he spent many summers as a Counselor at Camp Russell teaching and guiding youths.

Professionally, Joey had been employed as a construction engineer working and overseeing the formation of many construction projects throughout New England, Including many PGA Golf Courses.

A loving son, brother, uncle and friend, Joey enjoyed spending his time fishing, golfing with his friends, hiking and playing catch with his nephew Nicholas. Joey was always willing to help anyone in their time of need and his wonderful heartfelt smile will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Joey is survived by his parents, Joseph and Annetta ( Farber) Pugia, Sr., his sister and best friend Susan Pugia Vinciguerra, his brother Michael Pugia, his nephews, Nicholas Vinciguerra, Stephen Pugia, Christopher Yanakakis, Benjamin Yanakakis and Alex Yanakakis, and his nieces, Aleis and Samantha Pugia.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (Route 62) Danvers, Wednesday, March 5 from 3 to 7 p.m. His internment will be held in Mountain Garden Cemetery, Little Falls, NY. He will be at rest in the Farber/Pugia family plot.
