Obituary: Norma (Thomas) Witham, Secretary to Superintendents of Schools in Danvers, Retired in 1982

Norma (Thomas) Witham, 93, died November 26, 2014 in Danvers. She was the beloved wife of the late Everett S. “Sandy” Witham, Jr. with whom she shared 48 years of marriage.
Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mabelle (Nelson) Thomas. She was a lifelong resident of Danvers, graduating from Holten High School; Class of 1939.She was an active member of the First Church of Danvers, Congregational. Mrs. Witham worked as a Secretary to the Superintendents of Schools in Danvers, retiring in 1982 after 23 years.
She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Mary Witham of Sandwich and Roger and Mary Beth Witham of Danvers, a sister, Arline Sampson of Maine, three grandchildren, Heather Witham of Lunenberg, David Witham of Oregon and Cori Witham of California and two great grandsons, Thomas H. and Justin S. Brochu.
Her Funeral Service will be held at 1PM on Thursday, December 4, 2014 in the First Church of Danvers, Congregational, 41 Centre St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Thursday, from 11:30AM-12:30PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Norma’s name to the First Church of Danvers, 41 Centre St., Danvers, MA, 01923.
