Obituary: Patricia Elizabeth (Johnson) Beaulieu, Longtime Dental Hygienist on the North Shore

Patricia Elizabeth (Johnson) Beaulieu, 90, passed away on March 8th at Masconomet Health Care Facility in Topsfield. Born in Salem, Pat was the beloved wife of Raymond P. Beaulieu who passed away in 1984 and the daughter of Helen R. and Frederick T. Johnson, Jr. of Salem granddaughter of Frederick T. and Amelia Johnson and Albert P. and Mary T. Richardson. She is survived by her daughter Susan G. Hazen and husband Charles of Rowley and her son Richard D. Beaulieu and wife Jill of Danvers as well as three grandchildren: Elizabeth Morris and husband Nicolas of Salisbury, Charles Hazen, Jr. and wife Ariana of Rowley and Raymond Richard Beaulieu of Danvers and one great grandson, Daniel Jackson Morris of Salisbury. She leaves a sister, Mary J. Barnes and brother-in-law Joseph of Danvers, nephew Jeffrey M. Barnes of New York City and niece Janet E. Marson and husband David of Reading.
She also leaves behind Joan Mason and Jean Arlander, the two surviving members of “The Club”, a group of schoolgirls from Salem High who have continued their bi-weekly lunches for 75 years! She was predeceased by club members Betty Broderick, Louise Daly, Janet Jones and Dorothy Day and has missed them every day since. Thursdays just won’t be the same!

Mrs. Beaulieu graduated from Salem High School in 1942 after which she attended Kathleen Dell Secretarial School and Forsyth School for Dental Hygienists. Upon graduation from Forsyth, she worked for Dr. Austin T. Williams in Salem and several dentists on the North Shore, retiring after 21 years with Dr. Alan O’Grady of Danvers in 1999. She loved being a Dental Hygienist.
She was a 50+ year member of the Maple Street Congregational Church and The Maple Eves. She volunteered at the Maple Street Church Thrift Shop, The Loft, Hunt Hospital Aid and most recently Hospice of the North Shore, now Care Dimensions. She enjoyed her home, gardening, cooking and shopping as well entertaining friends and family. In her earlier years, she enjoyed knitting, sewing and quilting and later, cherished taking care of her young grandson, Raymond. She was also an avid lover of Bagpipes and enjoyed attending the Highland Games with her sister and brother in law.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held in the Maple Street Congregational Church, Maple St., Danvers, Wednesday, March 11th at 11:30 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hour in the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers, Wednesday March 11th prior to the funeral from 10 to 11 A.M. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Maple Street Congregational Church, 90 Maple St., Danvers, Ma 01923 or to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
