Obituary: William A. Haskell of Danvers, WWII Vet
William A. Haskell, 87, died Aug. 18. He was a bus monitor for special needs children after his retirement

William “Bill” Allen Haskell age 87, of Danvers, died peacefully at Beverly hospital on August 18, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born in Beverly on May 4, 1927, the son of Francis and Mildred (Parker) Haskell. He graduated Beverly High School then was drafted into the U.S Army to become a World War II veteran.
At the end of his military career he was employed by AC Lawrence Leather then moved on to Salem Suede from which he retired. Later, Bill worked as a bus monitor for special needs children. Bill’s passions were spending time with family, tending to his lovely garden that included hosta and plenty of tomatoes, smoking cigars, and going on weekly outings with his wife.
In addition to his beloved wife Sharon Ann (Winston) Haskell with whom he shared 47 wonderful years of marriage, he is survived by his children Kristen Haskell, Bradley Haskell, his daughter-in-law Sandi Haskell, his grandchildren Michael Spiewak, Casey Haskell, Christopher Walfield, Phillip Walfield, and Kendra Walfield, his two great granddaughters, his brother Norman Haskell, his sister Sharon Ballentine, and many loving nieces and nephews. The brother of the late Robert Haskell, Frank Haskell, Donald Haskell, and Bettyjean Pelletier. ARRANGEMENTS: 10-12noon visitation on Friday 12 noon Service. Please join us for a celebration of Bill’s life after the services at 6 Richartson Rd, Peabody MA 01960. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the New England Hemophilia Association, located on 347 Washington St., Dedham MA 02026.
